How to get to Singapore?

When we travel to Singapore we usually do it from Madrid, so we fly with Iberia Airlines to Doha (Qatar) and then Qatar Airways to Singapore. We actually offer a 5% direct discount in Qatar Airways to our readers which you can use in all flights anytime of the year! We really fly with Qatar a lot and it is one of our favorite companies. It is also part of the One World program so we get Avios, like with Iberia. Back to our topic, getting to Singapore is fairly easy, thanks to its well-connected Changi Airport, one of the best airports in the world. Whether you're flying from Europe like us, the U.S., or anywhere in Asia, you'll likely land at Changi, which is not just an airport but a destination in itself—think indoor waterfalls, lush gardens, and even a rooftop pool! Every time we have to catch a flight at Changi we actually go 3 hours aprox. early instead of 2 to have enough time to see the incredible waterfall. It is actually the world's tallest indoor waterfall and it is quite impressive so I do recommend seeing it at least once!

How to get from Changi Airport to Singapore city center?

Once you arrive to the airport, getting into the city is seamless:

  • The MRT (subway or train) is the most budget-friendly option, taking around 30 to 45 minutes to reach the city center. It can be quicker than the bus but you usually you have to make a transfer, which can be uncomfortable if you are carrying luggage.

  • Public buses also work very well and it is what we usually use because they usually take us directly very close to where we stay, like 50 meters away. Buses number 24, 27, 24, 26, 53, 110 and 858 travel to the city center from terminals 1, 2 and 3 in Changi Airport. From terminal 4, use 24, 34, 36 or 110. We usually take 36 and it takes around 40 to 45 minutes, depending on the traffic and time of day. I prefer the bus to the train

  • Taxis and ride-hailing apps like Grab are also convenient if you have luggage or prefer a direct ride. If you're staying at one of the unique hotels in Singapore we suggest in this article, some even offer private transfers, making your arrival extra smooth. We use Grab often as it works very well here and in many Asian countries.

You can pay all public transport options with contactless bank cards, which makes it easy! No matter how you get there, Singapore is one of the easiest cities to navigate, so you’ll be exploring in no time!

Best eSim Option for Singapore

When we visited Singapore, having reliable data was a game-changer—Google Maps, instant Grab rides, and finding the best hawker stalls on the go! We always use this eSIM because it’s the cheapest and easiest option. No need to swap SIM cards, just activate it and you're online in minutes. Highly recommend it for stress-free travel! Check it out here :)

We didn’t stay here, but we did go for dinner at one of the restaurants, and let’s just say the experience was totally worth it—the food, the atmosphere, the views? Unreal. If you’re in Singapore for just a few days, we highly recommend heading up to the SkyPark Observation Deck on the 57th floor. From 350€/night, 1-4 pax

QT Singapore in Marina Bay brings a playful and bold design to one of the city’s most vibrant areas. This stylish hotel blends luxury with a quirky twist, making every corner feel fun and unique. We loved the rooftop bar with stunning skyline views—perfect for unwinding after a day of visiting and walking around for hours. If you’re into modern design, great vibes, and a prime location, QT Singapore is a fantastic choice!

8. 21 CARPENTER, SINGAPORE, A MEMBER OF DESIGN HOTELS

Boat Quay, Singapore

21 Carpenter in Boat Quay is a chic boutique hotel that blends heritage charm with contemporary style. Housed in a restored shophouse (we love restored buildings), it offers a stylish yet intimate escape in the heart of Singapore. Stay here if you like design. Recommended!

10. PAN PACIFIC ORCHARD

Orchard, Singapore

From 300€/night, 1-4 pax

Pan Pacific Orchard is such a great choice if you're looking for a mix of modern luxury and convenience. It is not our style but the architecture is beautiful and you have all the commodities in the world. It's right on Orchard Road, so you're steps away from all the shopping and dining you could want. The rooms are spacious and modern, and the outdoor pool is perfect for chilling after a busy day. Stay here if you like stylish places with a central location and top-notch service.

11. ATELIER LUXURY HOSTEL

Chinatown, Singapore

From 79€/night,

12. MONDRIAN SINGAPORE

From 250€/night,

Mondrian Singapore in Chinatown is just as stunning as its sister properties. We stayed at the one in Ibiza last year and absolutely loved it, so we were excited to check out the Singapore location. The hotel has a vibrant, sleek design with incredible views of the city, a beautiful rooftop pool, and a great restaurant. It’s the perfect mix of luxury and cool, and the location is ideal for exploring Chinatown. Stay here if you’re looking for a stylish, high-energy spot with amazing amenities!

13. CAPELLA SINGAPORE

Sentosa Island, Singapore

From 1000€/night,

Capella Singapore on Sentosa Island is the definition of luxury. This gorgeous resort blends colonial charm with modern design, offering spacious villas and stunning views of the South China Sea. The service is exceptional, and the facilities, including the spa and infinity pool, are absolutely top-notch. We loved the peaceful, secluded vibe of the property—it's the perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Stay here if you’re looking for a serene, five-star retreat with world-class amenities.

14. KINN CAPSULE

Boat Quay,, Singapore

From 90€/night, 1 pax

We decided to try Kinn Capsule for one night to experience the capsule concept hotel, but sadly, it wasn’t the best experience for us. The room had 10 other capsules, and the capsules themselves weren’t completely enclosed—there was just a curtain, so we could hear everything happening around us. The noise from the door kept us awake most of the night. We thought it would be fun based on friends’ experiences in Japan, but maybe people there are more careful with noise. If you're a light sleeper, we wouldn't recommend staying here. Still, it is a very affordable option if you are traveling on a budget and the spaces were nice and clean. Plus, the area where the hotel is is also very nice.

I also tried the Pan Naan on the Maxwell Centre in Little India which literally felt like being in India!! Very authentic.

Best Time of year to Visit Singapore

The best time to visit Singapore is from February to April, during the dry season, when there is less rainfall and lower humidity. However, since Singapore has a tropical climate, it is warm and humid year-round, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 31°C (77°F to 88°F).

Seasonal Breakdown:

  • February to April (Best Time) → Dry season, pleasant weather, ideal for outdoor activities.

  • May to September → Hotter and hazier due to the Southwest Monsoon.

  • November to January → Rainy season, higher humidity, but festive vibes with Christmas and Chinese New Year.

If you want fewer crowds and lower hotel rates, consider visiting between July and September, except during major events like the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix (mid-September).

I love exploring places that feel a bit off the beaten path, and destinations like Georgia, Saudi Arabia, and Sri Lanka have completely captivated me. Walking through Tbilisi’s charming old streets or hiking in the Caucasus mountains feels like stepping into a hidden world of history and nature. In Saudi Arabia, the contrast between the ancient rock formations of AlUla and the futuristic energy of Riyadh is fascinating, while the untouched beaches along the Red Sea are a surprise most people don’t expect. And then there’s Sri Lanka, a country bursting with color—from the tea plantations of Ella to the wild safaris of Yala, where spotting elephants never gets old.
