Planning a trip to Mallorca?🌼 I grew up in Madrid but we have been visiting Mallorca since we were little. We have an apartment here and come visit nearly every month! Mallorca is my favorite island in Spain, although all the Balearic islands are a dream and we love to visit them all as often as possible. Mallorca offers something for every type of traveler and is a place everyone loves! In this Mallorca itinerary in 4 days, we'll guide you through the must-see sights, my favorite spots, and the local Spanish cuisine that make this island so special. At the end of the post, you will also find a list of my favorite restaurants around the island! Whether you're exploring the island's charming villages, soaking up the sun on beautiful beaches, or trying the delicious local Spanish cuisine, this itinerary ensures you make the most of your time in this stunning destination. Let's dive into how to spend the perfect 4 days in Mallorca! This itinerary works well during all seasons! If you are visiting in winter, I would just spend less time at the beach. If you have extra days, at the end of the itinerary you will see highly recommended half-day and day tours we love!

Mallorca itinerary in 4 days: My favorite island in Spain
How to get to Mallorca Spain?
✈️The easiest way to reach Mallorca is by plane. The island’s main airport, Palma de Mallorca Airport, is well connected to many European cities. I usually fly with Iberia Express, Vueling and Volotea — they have great prices and frequent flights from mainland Spain and Europe.
⛴️ You can also get to Mallorca by ferry from cities like Barcelona or Valencia. It’s a longer journey (around 6–8 hours), but it can be a fun experience — especially if you're bringing your own car or just want to enjoy the scenic ride across the Mediterranean. I usually take the ferry with Balearia! They work very well.
Once you land, you’ve got two main options for getting around:
🚗 Renting a car is the best if you want to explore at your own pace, especially the charming mountain villages and secluded coves. I did this on my last trip and loved the freedom! 🚌 Public buses are also a good option — they connect Palma with most major towns and beaches, and they’re very budget-friendly. Perfect if you’re staying put in one area or don’t feel like driving.

We live in Madrid but we have an apartment in Puerto Portals, in the south west of the island, only 15 minutes away from Palma. As we are Spanish and live in Spain most of the year, we don't need an eSim here, but when we travel we always use this eSIM because it’s the cheapest and easiest option. Day-by-Day: Mallorca itinerary in 4 days
Day 1: Explore Palma de Mallorca and surrounding beaches
Morning: Kick off your trip in Palma de Mallorca, the island’s vibrant capital. Start with breakfast at the bustling Santa Catalina Market, where you’ll find fresh local produce, pastries, and excellent coffee. Afterward, stroll through Palma's Old Town, marvelling at the iconic La Seu Cathedral and exploring the narrow streets filled with boutiques and historical landmarks. Don’t miss Palau de l'Almudaina, a former Moorish fortress turned royal residence.

Afternoon: After soaking in the city’s charm, head to Illetas Beach, a serene oasis ideal for a swim or sunbathing. Stay there, you can find a nice beach restaurant for lunch by the beach or continue your beach-hopping adventure at Cala Blava or Cala Portals, both known for their crystal-clear waters and scenic surroundings. These spots are great for snorkeling if you're up for some underwater exploration. In this case, prepare some food for a beach picnic!
Evening: Wrap up the day at Cabo Blanco, a stunning viewpoint where you can enjoy a dramatic Mediterranean sunset. Dine at Casa Fernando, a seafood restaurant near Palma, known for its authentic Mallorcan dishes like arroz brut. Another very cool option I would recommend for this evening in Palma is taking a highly-rated Spanish cooking class experience:

Day 2: Serra de Tramuntana
Morning: Begin your day with a scenic drive along the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Stop at Andratx, a charming town with a lively market if you visit on a Wednesday. From there, head to Valldemossa, a small town known for its cobbled streets and the Charterhouse of Valldemossa, where Chopin once stayed. Enjoy a traditional coca de patata and almond ice cream at a local café.
Afternoon: Drive to Deià, a picturesque small village that has inspired artists for decades. Enjoy lunch at Ca’s Patro March, a cliffside restaurant with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. Afterward, visit Sóller, a vibrant town surrounded by orange groves. Take the vintage tram to Port de Sóller, where you can enjoy a relaxing seaside stroll. If you fancy going on a boat tour from Sóller, I would recommend this one:
Evening: If you haven't taken the boat tour, end the day with a visit to Torrent de Pareis in Sa Calobra, a natural wonder with dramatic cliffs and crystal-clear waters. Stop for dinner in Sóller or Deià to savor local specialties like tumbet or lamb shoulder.

𑁍 Local Tip: Plan for a leisurely pace as the winding roads in the Tramuntana region can be slow but incredibly rewarding. Leave early for your road trip as there can be a lot of traffic during the summer months.
Day 3: Cap de Formentor and surroundings
Morning: Start early to catch the sunrise at Cap de Formentor, Mallorca’s northernmost point, where the views are absolutely breathtaking. The new Four Seasons just opened and the beach is also beautiful! We love going there for coffee or aperitivo before lunch. From there, head to Cala Ratjada, a charming coastal town perfect for a mid-morning coffee or aperitivo and a stroll along the promenade.

Afternoon: Make your way to Artà, a picturesque village brimming with history. Visit the San Salvador Sanctuary, perched atop a hill with stunning panoramic views. Enjoy lunch at Na Creu, a cozy restaurant serving delicious Mallorcan cuisine. Spend the afternoon relaxing at either Cala Mesquida or Cala Torta, both offering pristine beaches with a more secluded vibe.
Evening: Return to Palma for dinner or stay in the north to savor local dishes at a traditional eatery like Es Vivers in Cala Ratjada.
𑁍 Local Tip: Formentor's roads are narrow and winding; drive carefully and consider visiting early to avoid traffic.

Day 4: Es Trenc Beach and surroundings
Morning: Dedicate your last day of this perfect itinerary to exploring the island's southern coast. Begin at Es Trenc Beach, famous for its white sands and turquoise waters. This natural paradise is perfect for a morning of relaxation and swimming. These are some of the most crystal clear waters I bet you have seen in your life, stunning! Our favorite way to visit this beach is in a typical and traditional boat from Mallorca, a Llaut Boat. Here our favorite highly-rated private tour excursion:
Afternoon: Next, visit Cap de Ses Salines, the southernmost tip of Mallorca, where you can take in the dramatic seascapes and perhaps spot some wildlife. For lunch, head to Porto Colom, a quaint fishing village with a picturesque harbor. Dine at Sa Llotja, known for its fresh seafood and stunning views. Cala Figuera and Cala Llombards are also very very cute!
Evening: On your way back to Palma or the airport, enjoy a memorable dinner at Sa Farinera (my favorite!), a restaurant specializing in traditional Mallorcan fare with a welcoming atmosphere. We love it and go often when we arrive at the airport or before leaving! We usually dine outdoors, so it is very nice during the warmer months. And so that's a wrap for your Mallorca itinerary in 4 days!

The best time of the year to visit Mallorca depends on the type of experience you’re seeking:
Spring (April to June): Perfect for mild weather, blooming landscapes, and fewer tourists. Ideal for hiking in the Serra de Tramuntana, exploring quaint villages, and enjoying outdoor activities.
Summer (July to September): Peak season with warm temperatures, lively beaches, and vibrant nightlife. It’s the best time for beach lovers and those who want to enjoy Mallorca’s festivals and lively atmosphere. Bear in mind in summer there is a lot of traffic and crowds everywhere.
Autumn (September to October): Quieter than summer but still warm, with pleasant weather for sightseeing and enjoying the sea. It’s also harvest season, making it great for food lovers.
Winter (November to March): Mallorca’s off-season is calm and cooler, perfect for hiking, cycling, and exploring the cultural and historical sites without crowds. Many coastal resorts are quieter, but Palma remains vibrant.
